“I extend my gratitude to the Bank for installation of this machine that shall go a long way in making the banking services more convenient to the common people of the area especially in case of certain emergencies”, the minister said at the interactive meet between Bank’s customers and its officials held at Dak Bungalow soon after the inauguration of ATM. She further stated, “J&K Bank is at the forefront of peoples empowerment in the state and has been extending sufficient services and facilities aimed at the socio-economic development of the people. I must congratulate the bank officials, who have been working in difficult conditions in the past as well, for their dedication and efficiency in delivering services to their own people.
However, she said, people expect always more and better services from the institution they see and treat as their own asset.
She also advised youth to come forward with business projects under recently announced Sher-i-Kashmir employment package for youth that includes subsidy component up to 35% from government, so that the Bank would support them financially.

Minister clicks and JK Bank D H Pora goes online
Srinagar, Feb 9: Scores of faces cheered up when Minster for Social Welfare Ms Sakina Itoo just clicked the mouse of the computer at JK Bank Business unit at Damhal Hanjipora in presence of Parvez Ahmad President & Secy. J&K Bank and Zonal Head M Afzal Khan.
The click effected the roll-over of Bank business to finnacle, which has connected the branch to all such business units of the bank in the country. This high-tech banking facility shall make transfer of funds immediate and easy besides all other on-line banking facilities.
Addressing a large gathering that had converged on a nearby venue to witness the roll-over function, the minister congratulated the Bank for extension of such high-tech facilities to such far-flung areas which shall help these people to avail benefits at par with other regions of the state.
She also requested for installation of an ATM at Damhal Hanjipora also, so that people of the area also get benefitted from the Bank’s network expansion policies.
He urged the gathering to come forward and cooperate with bank in transformation of the area with new developmental initiatives and financial support.
People of the area were seen jubilant and thanked the Bank for its role. |

Speaking on the occasion, JK Bank President Parvez Ahmad gave a substantiated account of the Bank’s role in shaping the financial and developmental landscape of the state.He said that financial institutions play a very critical role in development of societies everywhere in the world and this responsibility is being discharged efficiently by J&K Bank in our state for last seven decades.
He said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to the state government and people whose support and cooperation have really been instrumental in making this Bank as the identity and ambassador of the J&K state.” Customer comfort besides providing world-class banking services, he said, remain at the core of Bank’s policy of productisation and extension of banking and financial services.
Responding to the suggestions made by few valuable customers during the meet, Parvez Ahmad advised the Zonal Head to constitute Customer Grievance Committees that shall work to improve customer services to their satisfaction. District Development Commissioner, Kulgam Farooq Ahmad Khan appreciated the role of bank in the district and expressed hope that the Bank would take further few strides to make finances more hassle free for a commoner. Earlier, Zonal Head gave a brief account of various products that Bank has tailor-made according to the needs of various segments of economy.
