Kunzar gets J&K Bank ATM
Committed to customer convenience, J&K Bank dedicated an ATM facility to the people at Kunzar, a picturesque township on Srinagar-Gulmarg Road. Ghulam Hassan Mir, Minister for Agriculture inaugurated the facility amid an impressive function on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion Mir hailed the J&K Bank for extensive credit dispensation and massive micro-financing in the Kunzar area. "Adoption of three villages viz., Hardshura, Hardabura and Karhama for micro-financing has started to pay the dividends. A massive drive to open NREGA accounts has exposed poor and under-privileged to banking and the saving and investment opportunities it offers. Besides, distribution of smart cards has added yet another dimension to farmer empowerment", Mir emphasized.
Abdul Hamid Banday, Bank's Zonal Head for North Kashmir presented a detailed account of the strides the Bank has made during last few years under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu, Chairman & CE, J&K Bank.
"Owing to our strenuous efforts to go for the massive gross root lending, North Kashmir has registered a historical growth of 29% in credit segment", Banday informed the gathering adding, Bank's LPG Connection Finance has received an overwhelming response from the public.
Cluster Head, Ghulam Rasool Hajam briefed the audience about various schemes of the bank. "We have deposit as well as loan schemes tailored for every segment of economy," he said.
Notably Kunzar branch has the distinction of being the first branch of the Bank to distribute Bio-metric technology enabled Smart Cards in the valley.
Aijaz Ahmed, Head business unit Kunzar thanked the people of Kunzar for their exemplary cooperation. "It is your cooperation that has helped this branch register a business of Rs.22 crores. A whooping 6000 account strength in just one and a half year is self-explanatory so far as the success of this branch is concerned", he stressed.
