JK Bank's state-of-the-art Upper Sathu branch premises inaugurated
Amid a large gathering of customers, J&K Bank dedicated the new premises of business unit Upper Sathu to its customers here at Munawar Plaza, Munawarabad. Laced with state-of-the-art facilities, the new premises, presenting a blend of modern architecture and traditional interior designing like Panjrakari and Khatamband, was inaugurated by Shamima Firdous, MLA & Chairperson State Women's Commission in presence of Abdul Hamid Banday, Bank's Vice President & Zonal Head for Central Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion Shamima Firdous described J&K Bank's role in economic restructuring of the state as ‘not only important but crucial'. "Bank's loan products aimed at employment generation and economic upliftment of the people are highly appreciable", she said adding recent announcement of the bank regarding one-time settlement of impaired assets will prove a boon to small income groups.
Expressing hope that J&K Bank would continue to come out with people-friendly products and initiatives, Shamima urged the Bank authorities to consider further relaxation in norms and rates of interest while tailoring products for small income groups.
Abdul Hamid Banday in his welcome address gave a brief overview of the Bank's commitment to social causes. "To offload the rush on our branches and to bring more comfort to our customers, Bank recently took a historic decision to segregate the social services and general banking services. It is in this backdrop that B/U Upper Sathu's old premises would continue to offer services to social security beneficiaries and other non-general banking clients while the general banking services would be provided in this spacious and new looank'sk premises", Banday informed the gathering.
He described the Bank's expansion of branch and ATM network as part of Bank's strategy to serve its customers as per their convenience and at nearest possible locations.
Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Head, Business Unit Upper Sathu presented the vote of thanks. Among others present on the occasion included M A Chilloo, Bank's Cluster Head.
