JK Bank's RSET institute inaugurated in Baramulla : ‘It has a good potential of creating good entrepreneurs' – Tafazal Hussain
Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) established by J&K Bank in district Baramulla was made operational when maiden two weeks training programme on "Entrepreneurship Development" was formally inaugurated yesterday. Prospective entrepreneurs in the age group of 18 – 40 having qualification from 8th pass to post graduate or professional degree levels shall be given training ranging from 30 days to 180 days on "Entrepreneurship Development" through awareness camps or sponsored programmes of government departments.
The programme was sponsored by DRDA. District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, inaugurated the programme in presence of the J&K Bank President, Tafazal Hussain, who was Guest of Honour on the occasion.
The district development commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, in his address hailed the efforts of JK Bank in starting the functions of the institute from a rented building. The district administration is going to allot land to the institute in near future.
Tafazal Hussain, President J&K Bank, in his address described the vision of the RSETIs and stressed the need to pursue this initiative energetically at all levels to ensure that this institution comes up as a prestigious institution in the district. He said, "To explore talented youth across the district and inculcate entrepreneurship qualities in them, the RSETIs initiative is very important. It has a good potential of creating good entrepreneurs, which in turn will contribute for economic development as well as eradication of unemployment up to a large extent in the state."
N.A.Parimoo, Vice - President North Zone of J&K Bank, gave brief account about the efforts being made for creating infrastructure for the institute that should come-up to the level not less than of those functioning in different states of the country.
Director of the institute, Riaz Ahmad Mir, while describing the uniqueness of the institute stated that the entrepreneur would be given consultation on financial, technical, professional, economical and marketing aspects under single roof in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, service sectors like education, technology, hospitality, tourism or in manufacturing/ production/ commercial sectors under handholding method and is to be nursed till the venture grooms up to the blooming stage.
The function was attended by all District level officers of financial institutions, government departments and representatives from various sections of the society. Regional Manager Grameen Bank and General Manager BCC Bank. Notably, the trainees in this maiden programme showed high enthusiasm.
The function ended with vote of thanks by the Project Officer DRDA.
