JK Bank takes technology to remotest areas. 100% country-wide connectivity soon: Chairman
Extending the benefits of IT-driven banking services to the remotest areas of the state, J&K Bank has put more than a dozen business units on Core Banking Solutions (CBS) in the last one week. The cutting edge technology will connect the customers of the remote areas to wide base of CBS branches. Commenting on the development, Mushtaq Ahmad, chairman and chief executive officer, said that this will change the face of banking and will provide benefits of online and anytime banking services to the bank's customers in far flung areas.
Among the branches, in remote and inaccessible terrain, that have been migrated to CBS include Sartingal and Gandoh in district Doda, Dharmari in district Udhampur, Lasana in Poonch, Arnas in Reasi, and Durbuk and Drass in Ladakh.
Mushtaq Ahmad said the switch over has reduced operational errors and process inefficiencies. "We are keen to bring in latest technology enabled services to further improve our services to make them more real-time and customer-friendly", Mushtaq said, adding, "The entire network of branches of the Bank will soon be put on the CBS".
