J&K Bank signs MoU with Chandigarh University
J&K Bank today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chandigarh University at its Zonal Office in Jammu.
On behalf of the Bank, President S&BD/Finance S K Bhat signed the document while as Vice-Chancellor Dr. R.S. Bawa represented the University on the occasion.
The MoU will facilitate the aspiring students obtaining prospectus and application forms of Chandigarh University at the nearest place of residence saving them from the trouble of travelling to Chandigarh.
Speaking on the occasion, S K Bhat said, "We have been constantly engaging in strategic tie ups across India with major Corporate for customer convenience, business expansion and delivery. We understand, more than 800 students from Jammu & Kashmir are also undergoing various courses in the campus and the strength as reported shall increase further in coming years", he added.
He further said, "Our bank provides education loans under various categories for courses from all government recognized universities at competitive interest rate. Students can also open saving accounts with our branches availing all types of facilities like ATM debut cards, e-banking, mobile banking etc."
We have already decided to install an ATM at Chandigarh University, he added.
It's notable that , the bank is in the 75th year of its remarkable journey and today the bank is one of the best private sector banks in the country with pan India presence of almost 700 branches.
Announcing special incentives for students from J&K to take admission in the University, Vice Chancellor said, "Under 'Super Achiever' scholarship program any meritorious aspiring engineer from J&K who figures in merit list of AIEEE examination with state rank up to 500 would be offered 100 percent scholarship in tuition fees and students lodging during his/her academic stay at campus would be borne by the management."
The MoU was signed in presence of Bank's Zonal Head (Upper North) Mohali Rakesh Gandotra, Zonal Head Jammu (Central) Arvind Gupta and Director Finance Chandigarh University Malik.
Notably, Chandigarh University offers various courses in different streams of Engineering, Architecture, Hotel Management, Business Studies, literature and culture. Currently more than ten thousand students are enrolled these courses.
