J&K Bank, RBI conduct Financial Literacy programme
Carrying forward its financial inclusion and awareness drive J&K Bank in association with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organized a Financial Literacy cum Awareness Programme for personnel of 79 BN of Central Reserve Police Force stationed at Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar. The participants were informed about the role and responsibilities of RBI and its significance to the common citizen of the country.
On the completion of the 75 years of RBI last year, it was decided to reach out to people in every nook and corner of the country to create awareness and literacy about banking system, roles and responsibilities of the banks, importance of the system and how it touches the lives of the common people.
On this occasion, information about banking system, banking products, roles and responsibilities of banks, customer grievance redressal mechanism in the banks, technology based banking services and the government schemes implemented through banks was disseminated.
The participants were also cautioned about the operations of some fly-by-night operators, cheap fund transfer schemes, fake lottery offers and unscrupulous elements who lure the people and dupe them of their hard earned money. Salient features of the genuine Currency Notes were also discussed on the occasion.
On this occasion, a note exchange counter in collaboration with J&K Bank Nallamar B/U was arranged for the benefit of the participants. The programme was followed by an interactive session wherein the doubts raised by the personnel on various aspects of the banking activities were clarified by the officers from RBI.
