JK Bank president stresses for knowledge & skill upgradation
J&K Bank President & Secretary, Parvez Ahmad kick-started ‘Achievers Guest Lecture Series' for the pioneering batch of MBA & BBA students of the Department of Management Studies of SSM College of Engineering & Technology, Parihaspora, Pattan.
The objective of organizing such lectures, as stated by Dr. N. A. Shah, HoD Management Studies of the college, is to provide an opportunity to the management students to interact with the ‘achievers' from various walks of life and to get a practitioners perspective from them. The first lecture was delivered by Parvez Ahmad, President & Secretary of J&K Bank. Parvez who is also honorary Chairman of Srinagar Satellite Chapter of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), emphasized the role of upcoming managers and business leaders for bringing radical and positive changes in socio-economic setup of the State driven by positive attitude, values and ethics. He also emphasized the need for upgrading the knowledge levels and skill sets of the management students to enable them to match the market needs and compete efficiently and effectively in the market. .
Parvez suggested to include in the curriculum of management studies the potential of the various sectors of State economy to enable the students to understand and realize the potential of these sectors. He further appreciated the efforts of the management of the SSM College in upgrading the infrastructure, enriching the teaching faculty and introducing various new courses and creating a conducive environment of learning at the famous and historical place of Parihaspora. He concluded the session by relating the management concepts to his own experiences which gave valuable insights to the students during the question and answer session.
