J&K Bank organized a one day Kissan Credit Mela at Mammar, Ganderbal, which was attended by a large number of farmers, apple growers and senior citizens from Kangan, Mammar, Hariganiwan, Wangath, Revil, Rezin and Haknar.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Showkat Ahmad Mir was Chief Guest at the event.
J&K Bank Vice President Viqar-ul-Mulk Nazki, Cluster Head Ganderbal Mohd Amin Khan, Incharge Marketing Mohd Ayoub Wanchoo, Head B.Us Kangan, Gund Rafiq Ahmad Dar and Muzafar Ahmad respectively were present on the occasion.
During the mela, 500 Kissan Credit Cards were distributed among the farmers.
Appreciating J&K Bank for their role in economic empowerment through financial tools like KCCs, DDC urged the people to avail the schemes which state and central government frames from time to time for their betterment.
He asked the youth to start their own ventures without waiting for government jobs.
Cluster Head briefed the farmers about the benefits and usage of Kissan Credit Card.
Speaking on the occasion Vice president said, "The bank always helps the farmers who are in need of finances during the crop year. However, to expand our relationships further we are reaching out to the farming community with commitment of total financial support for all their farming needs to the very end till they market their produce."
Tehsildar Kangan along with District Agriculture Officer Ganderbal were also present on the occasion.
