J&K Bank opens new Branch at Hardh-Aboor : Agri Minister hails Bank's efforts for economic empowerment of society
Going ahead with its policy of expanding banking and financial services into deeper spaces of rural Kashmir, J&K Bank today threw open its 582nd business unit at Hardh-Aboora , some eight kilometers from the main town of Kunzar in Tangmarg.
Minister of Agriculture Ghulam Hassan Mir inaugurated the branch premises amid huge gathering from all walks of life.
Expressing gratitude towards the Bank for making inevitable services like banking and finance conveniently accessible to the people of far off places like Hardh-Aboor, the minister said, "I thank the leadership and staff of J&K Bank for all their people-friendly policies and efforts aimed at grass-root empowerment of society."
The establishment of the branch here, he said, would go a long way in catalyzing a positive socio-economic change in this part of the valley. The Business Unit would lay strong foundations for the financial and economic development of Hardh-Aboor and its adjoining areas.
He, however, urged people of the area to co-operate and support the Bank in its endeavour and address the concerns of bank regarding repayment of loans and finances.
Earlier, Zonal Head North, Nazir Ahmed Parimoo informed the gathering about the role J&K Bank has been playing consistently in the socio-economic development of the state.
He said, "Our Business-Units, commonly called branches, have been acting as agents of socio-economic change in the areas of their operations and have gradually transformed the life and business of the people in those areas."
He urged people to avail all the services and products of the Bank which have been tailor-made according to the needs and tastes of different segments of society.
"We have put this unit on finacle from day one and as such you shall enjoy all types of modern banking facilities like ebanking, SMS banking, RTGS, NEFT etc. from today itself", Parimoo informed the gathering amid loud applause.
People of the area have hailed the establishment of new branch premises.
We had to go to Kunzar for even depositing Rs 100, but now that all those services have been brought to our doorsteps by J&K Bank and we are highly thankful to them, said Ghulam Nabi, a local artisan.
Cluster Head Ghulam Rasool and Branch Head Kunzar, Ajaz Bhat were also present on the occasion.
