J&K Bank holds literacy programs in Poonch, Rajouri

J&K Bank conducted various financial literacy camps in district Poonch and Rajouri wherein people from all walks of life were made aware about the importance of finances and their management through banking.


The bank’s FLCC centre in Poonch organised these camps at Handloom Centre in Village Kanuyian, Government Boys High School in Purani, and Government Girls High School, Chandak and at Social Welfare Centre in Chakatroo Poonch.


Speaking at these camps, Facilitator FLCC Poonch Kuldeep Kumar deliberated on the advantages of having saving account with the banks and its importance in day to day lives.
Money kept with the bank not only remains safe and secure but earns interest also from the bank, he said.


He explained in detail the bank’s education loan which has been tailored to meet all the needs of students till their higher studies.


Quiz sessions were held in both the schools and small gifts were distributed among the participants. In addition the literature pertaining to financial literacy brought by RBI was also distributed.
LDM Poonch Mohd Shafi Ayaz informed the audiences about the importance of financial literacy and credit counseling in entrepreneurship development.


Meanwhile, the bank’s RSETI Rajouri organized an ‘Entrepreneurship Development Porgramme’ at Govt. Hr Sec. School Manjakote in Rajouri to educate the students about the activities of JKB RSETI and also about the Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY).


District Development Manager NABARD, Des Raj, District Coordinator FLCC, Deesh Kumar Gupta, school Principal Aronesh Sharma, Head B.U Manjakote Jyoti Sharma and branch head J&K Grameen Bank S P Chaudhry were also present on the occasion.


While speaking on the occasion Director RSETI Harjinder Singh Sasan informed the participants that mission of RSETI is to train youth and inculcate the culture of self-employment among them.
He said, these trainings provided at the institute also help the trainees to improve their living standard by starting their own businesses after proper guidance and credit linkage program.
He educated the audience about different loan schemes especially education loan.
