J&K Bank conducted financial literacy camps in Udhampur and Baramulla besides concluding a training programme in Pulwama.

Udhampur Camp
The bank organised a financial literacy camp besides coin/note exchange mela at Lander, a remote village in Udhampur.

Speaking on the occasion, the bank’s Cluster Head S. Iqbal Singh informed the audience about salient features of (PMJDY) Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna Scheme.

Urging the audience to avail benefits under PMJDY like overdraft facility, PMJDY Insurance and RUPAY Card, he assured them that the bank would always cater to their banking and financial needs.
On the occasion, a total of 5000 coins of denomination of Rs 5 & Rs 10 were also distributed.

Baramulla Camps
The bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling Centre (FLCC) center Baramulla organized a literacy camp regarding Prime Ministers Jhan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) and other schemes of the bank in collaboration with Business Unit Ladoora in Government Middle School at Village Sadipora (Block Rafiabad).

The camp was attended by villagers mostly farmers, teachers, students and unemployed Youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator FLCC Mohammad Sultan Dar gave a detailed overview of Prime Ministers Jhan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY), which is meant for comprehensive coverage of all the financially excluded households in the country.

He explained the benefits of Kissan Credit Card Scheme, Education loan scheme and various income generating loan products of banks.

He also deliberated upon the proper end use of funds by establishing units under various other loan products of banks and sponsored cases from line departments and repayment of regular installments.
A similar camp was organized at Sheikhpora in Block Wagoora.

RSETI Pulwama
Meanwhile, the bank’s RSETI Pulwama concluded a 21-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme wherein more than 50 female trainees were educated about various aspects of contemporary dress designing. The trainin module had been designed to enable these entreprenuers to set up their own viable business units.

Director RSETI Pulwama, Lead District Manager, Incharge FLCC and Special Officer from Handloom department besides Incharge RSETI zonal office south Pulwama addressed the trainees and assured them to provide full help in the process of setting up units.

Director RSETI Mohammad Maqbool Bhat apprised the guests that the the total number of trainees rose to 714 during the year 2014-15.
