J&K Bank holds financial literacy camps
J&K Bank organised various financial literacy camps wherein people were informed about basic financial management and counseled regarding various ways to avail credit from the banks under various schemes.
Kupwara Camps
FLCC Kupwara in collaboration with bank's business unit at Vilgam and Lead Bank Office Kupwara organized a financial literacy camp at Dhingroo Vilgam, a far flung hamlet mainly inhibited by farmers and other backward tribes.
The camp was attended by people representing almost all the sections of the society.
Facilitator FLCC Kupwara educated the audience about the management and importance of money and advantages of savings with and borrowings from the banks for economic development of the area.
Head business unit Vilgam also spoke on the occasion. Few such camps were held at Badrapayeen in Kralgund and Majeedabad in Magam Handwara.
At Badrapayeen, the camp was held in Government Middle School, in which the students and teachers of the school participated besides local residents of the area.
Facilitator FLCC urged the audience to inculcate the habit of savings with the banks for better returns and brighter future.
Heads of local business units spoke about loan products like education finance, consumption, consumer and housing loan. Farmer friendly schemes like KCC and Apple Finance were also discussed on the occasion. The participants hailed the initiative of the bank.
Poonch Camps
The Bank organised few camps in Poonch district at village Fazlabad, Buffliaz and Kurmara (which is only 500 mts. from LoC), which were attended by people representing cross-section of the society. Facilitator FLCC Poonch explained to the audience about the importance of saving with the banks besides various deposit and loan products, besides various sponsored schemes like KCC. Heads of local business units also spoke at the camps. Participants thanked the bank for opening its business unit in Fazlabad and for organizing such camps in the villages.
