With a view to make common people aware about the recently launched social security schemes i.e. PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY, J&K Bank conducted a mega awareness camp at Town Hall Building, Budgam.
District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf was the Chief Guest at the camp organized by Lead District Office.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Budgam advised the particpants to know the insurance based schemes well and avail their benefits for the safety and security of their families and furture.
He urged the people associated with skill-based crafts to take advantage of the Atal Pension Yojna and safeguard their lod-age by depositing a meagre amount in the form of scheme premium.
He also threw light on the" BETI BACHAO AND BETI PADHAU" and warned youth about the menace of drug addiction.
Earlier, Lead District Manager Shahzad Hussain Teli welcomed the guests that included Bank’s Cluster Head M A Wanchoo, Zubare Wasil (NABARD), Mushtaq Ahmad (M C Budgam), Bank Coordinators, Branch Heads, Business Correspondants, representatives from NGO'S and Common Service Centres and other participants.
He informed the gathering about the importance of mega camp and deliberated upon the main benefits of these schemes and requested all the stakeholders to effect maximum enrollement under these schemes for their social security.
FLCC Budgam A H Rfiquee also spoke on the occassion. Director RSETI Budgam Mohammad Amin and M S Bali from Life Insurance Corporation (India) also took part in the deliberations and highlighted the importance of the programme.
Baramulla Camp
The Bank’s Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling center Bramulla organized a camp in collaboration with J&K Grameen Bank and NABARD at Village Peernia, in Block Boniyar.
The camp was attended by a cross-section of local society ccomprising of farmers, labourers, students, senior citizens and unemployed youth.
Facilitator J&K Grameen Bank Ghulam Qadir lone deliberated upon the concept of financial inclusion and its advantages to the general public at length.
He urged upon the audience to open two accounts both for male and female heads of the family as per Jan Dhan Yojna Scheme and take benefit of the inbuilt incentives in the scheme like accidental Insurance of Rs 1 lac and an overdraft facility of Rs 5000/= after satisfactory transactions in the account for six months.
Facilitator FLCC Bramulla Mohammad Sultan Dar educated the audience about financial planning, savings, advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, ultra small branches, khidmat centres, difference between formal and informal source of borrowings, different type of borrowings.
The facilitator also deliberated upon Kissan Credit Card Scheme, Education loan scheme and various income generating loan products of banks for awareness of the audience.
He also spoke about Electronic Benefit Funds Transfer (RTGS & NEFT).
Lead District Manager Baramulla Javaid Ahmad Qureshi and District Development Manager NABARD Rouf Ahmad also spoke on the occasion.
Certain clarifications were sought by the audience regarding Jhan Dhan Yojna, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY and various products of bank; which were duly clarified by the speakers on spot.
The camp ended with a vote of thanks.
