Srinagar, Mar 7: J&K Bank organised various literacy and credit counseling camps in Budgam district during the last month.
The bank’s FLCC Budgam center conducted awareness camp for village artisans at RSETI Budgam where-in the local entrepreneurs engaged with handicrafts like sozni-work, carpet-making, zari-work, crewel and shawl embroidery were getting training under a programme sponsored by handicrafts department.
All the entrepreneurs had applied for financial assistance from the respective banks for establishing their units. As such they were educated about the procedures and formalities for getting hassle free credits within minimum period of time.
Speaking at another camp organised by DIC Budgam with a view to motivate the unemployed educated youth regarding various income generating schemes Facilitator FLCC Budgam informed the participants about the financial aspects of these schemes and educated them about the various procedures and formalities which the entrepreneur has to undergo to get hassle free financial assistance from the Banks.
DDC, who was the Chief Guest at the camp, urged the participants to create employment opportunities by opting for such type of schemes which are supplemented with various incentives from the sponsoring agencies and contribute towards the overall development of the District.
Besides, the center conducted awareness camps at ITI Wadipora and Khaag.
The credit counseling camp at ITI Wadipora, organised in collaboration with NABARD Budgam, was attended by trainees in various streams of technical fields like computer hardware, computer software, mobile repairing and agro and food processing works.
Facilitator FLCC spoke about money management, savings, borrowings and basic banking products in order to help the potential entrepreneurs in setting up their own Self Employment Ventures.
He explained to them the procedures and formalities which have been simplified for the entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, with a view to spread Financial Literacy among the rural people living in far flung areas and making them familiar with the facilities available from financial institutions at affordable costs, FLCC Budgam also organized an awareness camp at Khaag.
Baramulla camps
The bank’s FLCC Center Baramulla organised a financial literacy camp in collaboration with NABARD and bank’s Salamabad B.U in which a good number of people from Salamabad and other adjacent areas participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator FLCC informed the audience about financial planning, budgeting, savings and advantages of savings with banks, concept of Business Correspondents, Khidmat centres and different type of borrowings.
The facilitator also deliberated upon Kisan Credit Card scheme, Education loan scheme and various income generating loan products of banks for awareness of the audience.
Meanwhile, certificates were distributed among 58 unemployed youth from across district Baramulla at the end of 11-days training programme at RSETI Baramulla.
Chairing the valedictory function Executive officer KVIB and District Officer KVIC received the feedback from the trainees and hailed the efforts of the faculty and the Director RSETI -Baramulla in making the programme successful.
The training programme was meant instruct them about setting up their income generating units in the manufacturing and services sector under PMEG programme.
All the trainees were referred to concerned bank branches for financial assistance at the send-off ceremony, which was attended by district officers from various departments and banks.
