J&K Bank holds awareness Camps in Budgam

Continuing with its mission to educate people about the basics of finance and banking, J&K Bank organized number of awareness camps in Budgam district during the last few weeks.


With a view to apprise the participating youth about PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY Schemes and other financial products and schemes of the bank for upliftment of rural poor, FLCC Budgam participated in a mass awakeing camp organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra in which the participants were informed about the benefits of these schemes.


Facilitator FLCC A H Rafiqi highlighted the features of PMJDY scheme like issuance of Rupay Card having inbuilt accidental insurance cover of Rs 1 Lac.


He also discussed the social security schemes like PMSBY and PMJJBY besides loan products like KCC, ACC and other income generating schemes meant for eradication of poverty and unemployment in rural areas.


The participants were encouraged to make use of these schemes in their respective villages and avail the benefits like Interest/Capital Subsidy and interest subvention provided under these Schemes to make their livelihood conditions better and secure.


The RBI in collaboration with Lead Bank and FLC organized two awareness camps
Meanwhile, the Lead Bank Budgam conducted two awareness camps in Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam and Govt Higher Secondary School for 11th and 12th class students. The camps were organized in collaboration with RBI and Lead Bank Office Budgam.


Facilitator FLCC apprised the students about financial products and services available with the banks particularly for student community in the form of education loan schemes. He urged the students to avail the loan for development of their career by seeking admission in various professional/technical colleges.


The LDM also spoke on the occasion about importance of savings and advantages of savings with the banks and other facilities and benefits of borrowings from the banks.
The RBI representative cautioned the participants not to fall pray to fictitious offers like lottery or remittance of cheap funds in foreign currency and fictitious mails asking for details of ATM Cards and Account details.


Further the participants were educated regarding the genuiness of Currency notes and explained the details of various security features present in the currency notes by which they are differentiated from fake currency notes.


 The Principals of both the Schools thanked the RBI and FLCC Team for organizing the camp and providing Financial Awareness to the students and staff of the School.
Similar camps were organized in the district at Kanidajan (Chrar Sherif) and Sports stadium Budgam, wherein a large number of people participated.
