In line with its comprehensive CSR policy, J&K Bank today besides a vehicle donated 10 computer systems and 13 sewing machines to Madri Meherban Women & Child Welfare Institute (MMWCWI).
Executive President J&K Bank Parvez Ahmad handed over the key of the bus along with computers and sewing machines to the Chairperson of the welfare institute Ms Suraiya Mattoo in a simple function held at the Institute premises at Miskeen Bagh. J&K Bank Presidents, Abdul Rauf Bhat and Bashir Ahmad Lone and other officials of the institute were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Executive President, Parvez Ahmad, said, "Being conscious of social responsibility that our primacy in the economy of the state places on us, J&K Bank has and shall continue to extend maximum support to genuine welfare initiatives taken for the empowerment of under and least-privileged sections of society especially in the education, self-employment and health-care sector".
Hailing the efforts of the institute in inculcating the value of self-sufficiency among the beneficiaries, he stressed, "Unless we place highest premium on the self-employment and self-reliance, we cannot evolve into a developed society with strong financial and economic traditions. So, all our initiatives at social and economic well-being of the society must engender a positive outlook about future which originates mainly from confident and empowered sense of self".
"The economic empowerment of people across the state is the real mission J&K Bank has taken upon itself and is on its way to accomplish", he added.
Receiving the keys of the vehicle, Ms Suraiya Mattoo thanked the Bank for its generous support towards the empowerment of least privileged sections of society.
We shall optimally utilize these computers and sewing machines to train and hone the skills of the young girls who come to learn and to become financially self-reliant in future, she added. She concluded saying, "We pray for the success of J&K Bank for it is not a bank but movement of which we are proud to be part of."
