Owing to continuous disruption in power supply in the valley for the past two days due to harsh weather conditions, smooth functioning of the J&K Bank ATM network in the valley was hampered at some places, mostly at offsite ATM locations. The power back up of these ATMs got exhausted due to the prolonged non-availability of electricity. This caused lots of inconvenience to the esteemed customers of the bank. However the onsite ATMs remained functional on Saturday.
"Even as this situation has badly affected all walks of life, the bank is in the process of restoring the smooth functioning of the ATMs across the valley. If the power supply is not restored, the bank has made sufficient arrangements to make at least onsite ATMs (the machines which are attached with the business units) functional tomorrow through generators," said TafazalHussain, Executive President of the bank.
The bank expresses its regrets for the inadvertent inconvenience caused to the customers, he said. Meanwhile, the bank assures of every possible effort being made to extend the uninterrupted services to the customers
