J&K Bank distributes Prizes among lucky winners of JK Bank Global access card scheme
J&K Bank today distributed prizes to winners of JK BankGlobal Access Card lucky draw campaign announced on 19th January 2009 at Zonal office Srinagar. The prizes were distributed at an impressive function held at Zonal office Srinagar by Senior president of the bank Mr.Ajit Singh and president Mr. K K Sharma.
The first prize winner Mr. Rose Afshan Abroo was presented a laptop while Mr Javid Ahmed Bhat and Mr Mohammad Maqbool Tantray were presented mobile phones worth Rs ten thousand each as second prize. Seven winners of third prize were presented mobile phones worh Rs 6500/-each. On the ocassion cash prizes worth Rs1000/each were also presented to ten 4th prize lucky winners.
Congratulating winners on the occasion Mr Ajit Singh, Banks Senior President, while highlighting the importance that plastic money has achieved over the period of time. He said, "Emergence of plastic money, over the last two decades, has changed the spending patterns tremendously. Traveling, shopping, dining, fuelling, jewelry, apparel purchases and what not. Today, this risk free alternative provided by the banks is being availed by all and sundry. The research says that consumers spend Rs.60000 crore annually which is expected to grow at 50% over the next 4-5 years. And J&K Bank, committed to provide its customers high-tech services with special consideration for risk factors, offers its customers both the debit as well as credit cards to operate their accounts."
"Coming to our recent drive to make people aware about the merits of Global Access Debit Card so that they avail it to their utmost benefit, I should say it has been very successful. We need to understand what a precious and needful thing this small piece of plastic is. It is money – safe and secure, easy to handle, carry and operate. The best thing is that you can carry it in your pocket and access it from anywhere in the world. Making transactions through cards also saves your time. You do not need to go to your bank. Instead your account is in your pocket. Operate it, wherever you want," he said.
He also announced that from Ist April this year J&K bank customers could use ATM's of other banks free of any charges.
Mr KK Sharma, President of the bank while congratulating the winners thanked customers for the trust they have shown in J&K Bank. He also spoke about number of measures bank was taking for the convenience of customers, which included installation of 30 ATM in state by the end of this month besides making efforts by which debit cards can also be used for booking of tickets and on-line shopping.
Mr Parvez Ahmed President and Head Central Zone (Kashmir) speaking on the occasion while reaffirming that customer was central to the J&K Bank's strategy urged customers to make optimum use of technology since bank had invested heavily in technology for providing international financial services and solution for convenience of customers. He announced that very soon customer can apply for global access card through phone, which shall be delivered to him at his door step with fifteen days time.
Expressing his views Mr.Rose Afshan abaru, first prize winner thanked J&K bank for the steps it was taking to provide world class banking services to the people of state. Other present on the occasion included, Vice Presidents, M A. Narchoor, Mr. N A Parimoo and Mera Jamwal, Business Development and Sales Manager of Srinagar & Ganderbal , M. A. Challo and Business Development and Sales Manager Budgam, A.H. Khan.
