J&K Bank disburses 89 cr in Poonch, RSETI Bandipora felicitated for skill development programmes

All the banks operating in district Poonch have disbursed loans to the extent of Rs.110.41 crores to 6240 beneficiaries, during the first three quarters of financial year 2014-15, which is 38.53% of the total target for the financial year. The highest contribution in credit dispensation has been of J&K Bank which alone has disbursed an amount of Rs.88.81 crores to 3642 beneficiaries which is 80% of the total achievements under Annual Credit Plan. 


This was revealed in District Level Review Committee meeting held in Poonch on 29th January 2015 to review the performance of various banks and Govt. sponsoring agencies for the third quarter of the financial year 2014-15 ended 31stDecember  2014 under the Chairmanship of Mr. M. Hussain Malik  Distt. Development Commissioner Poonch. Lead District Manager Poonch, M.Shafi Ayaz was also present on the occasion.  


DDC urged on the banks to double their efforts for achieving the ACP targets. “Accelerate your efforts to come to the level of other banks especially J&K Bank”, DDC said.


 Meanwhile, the skill development initiative of the bank being implementing through the network of Regional Self Employment Training Institutes RSETIs) is being acclaimed across board. Various short term employment generating courses, with special focus on local arts and crafts, are offered through these institutes along with the much needed credit linkage facility. Programmes are receiving a positive, tremendous response from the youth and the society is taking it in the spirit of a great gesture. Thousands of youth have already been trained through these institutes and extended financial assistance to start their own ventures.


Bank’s RSETI Bandipora was recently felicitated for its outstanding performance. District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Shah Faisal presented the award to Mir Pervaze Ahmad, director RSETI at the Republic Day function held in the district headquarters on January 26. DDC Bandipora said that RSETI is the best platform for the unemployed youth to gain requisite skills and to start their micro units and also lauded the helping hand of the sponsoring J & K bank in providing timely required financial assistance to the trainees and thereby helping in eradication of unemployment to the extent possible.
