J&K Bank conducts fin lit camps in Kupwara, Shopian
J&K Bank organised a financial literacy camp at Redbugh Kupwara, which was attended by a good gathering of people including Sarpanch, Panchs and senior citizens of the area.
Lead District Manager (LDM) Kupwara Ghulam Hassan Wani, officials of agriculture department and Branch Heads of financial institutions of the area also participated in the camp.
Facilitator FLCC Kupwara Mohammad Maqbool Shah dwelt in detail upon the benefits of savings for better and safe future of a person and the society as a whole.
He also spoke about the benefits of various bankable loan schemes tailored by various financial institutions for overall economic upliftment of the society particularly for those who have not been covered under the financial network so far.
Extension Officer Agriculture department Firdous Ahmad apprised the audience about the procedure of Kissan Credit Cards and other schemes devised for the development of agriculture and other sectors of economy.
The Heads of financial institutions present at the camp also gave detailed account of various banking products regarding Deposits, Advances and Insurance, Credit and Debit cards etc.
LDM Kupwara thanked the people for their cooperation and assured all possible assistance from the financial institutions and sponsoring agencies.
Meanwhile, for establishment of mini sheep farms and sheep shearing units an awareness camp was organised in Shopian at Padapawan (Sedow) in collaboration with District Sheep Husbandry Office Shopian.
The camp was attended by local sheep rearers, prospective breeders, Sarpanches, local NGO (Kashur Forum) and staff of Sheep Husbandry Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Facilitator FLCC Shopian Mehmood Ahmad Jan deliberated in detail upon the viability and financial assistance available at banks for establishing Mini Sheep Farms and Sheep Shearing Units.
Lead District Manger M Saleem Wani impressed upon the participants to develop relationships with the nearest bank branches by opening accounts with them. He also elaborated on the Kissan Credit Card.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer Dr. G N Naik spoke about the technical feasibility of establishing the sheep shearing units and Mini Sheep farms. He assured the interested Sheep rearers of technical support and veterinary cover from the department.
Insurance Manager apprised the people about the insurance cover for the schemes.
The prospective sheep rearers raised many queries which were replied to their satisfaction by the organizers. The camp concluded with a vote of thanks by LDM.
