J&K Bank convened a District Level Review Committee meeting of Bandipora which was chaired by DDC Dr. Shah Faisal (IAS).
Lead District Manager Bandipora Riyaz Hassan Baba informed the House that all banks operating in the district  have extended credit aggregating to 78.51 crore to 4440 beneficiaries under priority and non- priority sector during first half  year of the financial year 2014-15 registering an achievement of 29 per cent in financial and 45 per cent  in physical terms.

J&K Bank alone has disbursed 59.47 crore which accounts to 76 percent of the total credit disbursed by all banks operating in the district, he said in the DLRC/DCC/PMJDY Implementation Committee meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DLRC advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with cooperation so as to achieve the goals and targets of development, progress and eradication of unemployment.

The meeting was attended by AGM RBI Ravinder Kaul, DDM NABARD Rauf Ahmad, District Coordinators of Banks, Govt. departments and other development agencies.

 The LDM further informed that for implementation of PMJDY various banks operating in the district have conducted 108 awareness camps and opened 14117 accounts up to 8thDecember 2014 with J&K Bank opening 81% of the accounts.

Besides reviewing the performance of Banks & Govt. departments under various Schemes, Relief, Rehabilitation, Revival and Restructuring of Credit facilities of the flood affected people was discussed in detail and the Chairman directed for speedy disposal of their cases. 

Awareness Camp-cum-Coin Exchange Mela
As part of its sustained campaign to make people aware about Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY), the Bank organized an awareness camp besides Coin/Note Exchange Meal at Dhanas (Pattangarh), which is a remotest village of block Chenani in district Udhampur.

Speaking on the occasion Cluster Head Iqbal Singh highlighted the initiative of the Bank in its outreaching efforts to provide banking facilities to state’s underbanked and unbanked areas. He also appraised the audience about the main features of the recently launched Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna Scheme.

The participants were assured that the bank will always cater to their financial needs and redress their grievances, if any.
On the occasion soiled and mutilated currency notes were exchanged and coins of various denominations were distributed.
