J&K Bank today pressed one more ATM into public service at Battal Ballian Road in Udhampur taking the number of such machines in the district to 19.
Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta inaugurated the ATM in presence of bank’s Vice-President and Cluster Head (Udhampur) S. Iqbal Singh, scores of valuable customers, traders and senior citizens of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kumar lauded efforts of the bank for its major contribution to financial growth of the state.
Besides stating that the long felt need of people in the area was met through the ATM, he impressed upon the people to make full use of various schemes and facilities offered by the bank.
Earlier, Cluster Head informed the gathering that the bank already has a network of 26 business units in the district and is going to open 7 new Business Units and 5 more ATM’s in the coming months.
The installation of ATM opposite Women’s College will facilitate the local people as well as commuters using Battal Ballian Road, he said.

Meanwhile, to review achievements made under Annual District Credit Plan 2014-15, the bank convened a District Level Review Committee meeting of district Kupwara under the Chairmanship of DDC Kupwara Kumar Rajiv Ranjan.
Chief Planning Officer Kupwara, Abdul Ahad Shah, LDO RBI Dinesh Gupta, DDM NABARD Rouf Ahmad Zargar and bank’s Cluster Head Mohd Shafi Bhat were also present in the meeting besides District Coordinators of financial institutions, District Heads and representatives of various government departments and sponsoring agencies.
Apprising the house about the achievements made under District Credit Plan 2014-15 till 31st December, 2014, Lead District Manager Kupwara said that 56.51% of the targets laid down under ACP 2014-15 have been achieved till the third quarter of the current financial year.
He informed the House that the financial institutions have provided credit of Rs. 151.98 Cr to 8651 income generating units under priority sector and Rs. 139.55 Cr to 4115 beneficiaries under Non-Priority sector.
Meanwhile, deposits in the district have increased by 7.95% to Rs 1336.18 Cr and advances by 25.20% Rs 974.11 Cr YoY basis when compared to Rs 1237.82 Cr and Rs 778.04 Cr recorded earlier.
CD ratio of the district stood at 72.90% as compared to 62.86%.
The house was informed that till February end the banks have opened 88,769 accounts under PMJDY scheme with the deposit amount of Rs 12.29 Cr. The banks have also issued 22573 RUPAY Debit Cards to the account holders under the scheme.
Chairman DLRC advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work with with coordination to achieve the set developmental targets.
He also directed various Agencies to conduct awareness programmes at village levels to generate proper awareness among the people and ensure speedy credit dispensation. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the LDM.
