J&K Bank awareness camps in Kupwara, Baramulla and Kulgam
Educating people about the importance of financial literacy and credit counseling, J&K Bank conducted an awareness camps in Kupwara, Baramulla and Kulgam districts.
Kupwara Camp
The camp at Chowgal in Handwara was organised by FLCC Kupwara under the aegis of Lead Bank Office Kupwara in which people from the villages of Chowgal, Kulangam and Braripora participated.
The camp was attended by a large number of people representing almost all the sections of the society particularly those related to fruit business, farming, traders, senior citizens, Sarpanches, panches besides Lead Bank Officer, representatives from Zonal office Sopore and Cluster office Kupwara.
Facilitator FLCC Kupwara welcomed the participants and informed them about the purpose of such camps. He explained to them management of financial resources and importance of savings with the banks for their better tomorrow.
The Zonal Coordinator (North) gave a detailed account of various deposit and loan schemes of the Bank particularly about the features of Apple Finance, Kisan Credit Cord, Education loan,Housing loan, consumer & consumption loan schemes and urged the participants to take the advantage of such schemes and services for overall development. The Lead Bank Officer impressed upon the youth to avail the benefits under various government sponsored schemes for establishment of income generating units for better livelihood.
The representative of Cluster office Kupwara apprised participants about the benefits of various Insurance products of MetLife, Bajaz Alliaanze, Debit and Credit cards and other remittance services provided by the banks and urged the people to open accounts with the banks.

Baramulla Camp
FLCC Baramulla organized an awareness camp at Chitloora Rafiabad attended by a good number of farmers. Explaining the role of Business Correspondents (BC) of Khidmat centre and their relationship with the Bank, Facilitator FLCC Kupwara said, "Banks have been allowed to appoint local individual persons and others as business correspondent to work as agents of the bank. The business correspondent uses information and communication technology (ICT) based devices such as handheld machines, smart card based devices and mobile phones to carry out the banking transactions."
The device available with the BC was shown to the farmers and will be further demonstrated when smart cards are issued.
Depositing money with BC is as good as depositing with bank. The customers can get immediate verification of their transactions as receipt of deposit is issued on behalf of the bank immediately by the business correspondent, he said.
The account opening forms were also distributed by Head Business Unit Wattergam among the farmers and shall be collected by BC within 3 days and accounts opened accordingly.
The Branch will visit the village and will issue smart cards and ensure transactions after 15 days as per directions of RBI.

Kulgam Camp
The Bank's FLCC Kulgam conducted a financial literacy camp with Lead Bank Office at Nandimarg Kugam in which a good gathering of people from various walks of life participated.
The FLCC made the people aware of various JK bank Schemes particularly KCC and Apple Project.
The Facilitator FLCC Abdul Rashid Hakeem gave a detailed presentation of the Bank's schemes particularly Child Care Scheme, Mehandi Deposit Scheme and he also threw light on Education Loan Scheme.
