J&K Bank awareness camp at SP College, holds DLRC meeting in Ganderbal : <i>RSETI, Sgr trains 23 women entrepreneurs </i>
Pursuing its initiative to educate masses about the financial products and services offered by J&K Bank, a zonal level marketing team of the bank conducted an awareness programme here at S.P. College. Students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college showed keen interest in the programme, which was also attended by the Principal of the college, Dr, Yaseen Ahmad Shah, Incharge Marketing, Altaf Mehboob Gani and Assistant Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan.
The participants were provided with detailed information regarding the services and products offered by the bank. The students were also counseled regarding the various self-employment generation schemes provided by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir and the role played by J&K Bank in delivering the same to the aspiring youth. The participants interacted with the bank officials and inquired about various schemes of the bank.
The Principal Dr. Yaseen Ahmad Shah hailed contribution of the bank in the economic development of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
RSETI programme
A 21- day training programme on "CUTTING & TAILORING (DRESS DESIGNING FOR WOMEN)" at RSETI Srinagar concluded. 23 candidates, mostly from Tailbal, Habak Motimohalla and Fisherman Colony attended the training. They were made aware about the basics of Cutting & Tailoring techniques for making their product more viable and marketable through value addition upon the traditional tailoring work.
A warm send-off was given to the trainees during a valedictory function at the RSETI Institute in presence of Vice- President Zonal Head Kashmir V.M. Nazki. The Vice- President desired the candidates to form the SHG , each group comprising 5 to 10 participants for establishing their small enterprise of Cutting Tailoring & Dress Designing, the formation of Self Help Group's would ease the process of credit linkage for them with the banks for running their enterprise smoothly.
Director RSETI, Ms Shahzadi assured the trainees of all support and handholding for two years till they establish their own enterprise.
DLRC meeting
The banks in Ganderbal district have disbursed Rs 131.77 Crores for establishment of 7324 units at the end of the year 2012-13 under District Credit Plan. This includes Rs 83.38 Crores for 5231 units under priority sector registering achievement of 66% and Rs 48.39 Crores for 2093 units under non- priority sector registering an achievement of 39%. Out of priority sector, Agriculture and allied activities registered 99% Small enterprises 61% Micro credit 98% Education 65% and housing 45%.
Deposits of the district have increased by 21% and advances by 25% when compared to YOY basis.CD ratio of the district stands at 51%.
This was revealed at the District Level Review Committee /District consultative committee meeting of Ganderbal District held on June 11 under the Chairmanship of District Development commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal Sarmad Hafeez.
The meeting was convened by JK Bank which is also the Lead Bank of the District.
