A delegation of Humanity Welfare Organisation, comprising mostly of physically challenged persons, led by its President Javed Tak today called on to meet Chairman and CEO J&K Bank Parvez Ahmed in presence of Executive Presidents S S Sehgal, Abdul Rauf, Vice Presidents Sushil Kumar, Manzoor Hussain and Tabassum Nazir here at corporate headquarters.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman appreciated their will and dignity in the face of severe physical challenges they were born with or have undergone.
He said, “As socially conscious institution, I feel it is the responsibility of the bank to remain sensitive to and engage with physically challenged persons who are differently-abled. It is our duty to extend complete support to these sections of society in every possible way.”

Earlier, the delegation apprised the Chairman of various hardships that physically challenged persons undergo generally and while availing banking services particularly.
“We are here to request you for accessibility, employment and inclusive service delivery for people like us. We don’t need charity but investment in our capacities that remain over-shadowed by our disability. We can work better provided we need are empowered and encouraged”, said Javed Tak while making a case for reservations in employment and relaxations in services for the differently abled persons.

Responding to the pleas of delegation, Chairman gave on-spot directions to the concerned for construction of a ramp and special toilet to facilitate an easy access to the physically challenged at the corporate office in the beginning.

He also assured the delegation about creating disabled-friendly facilities at some business units in near future besides looking into the reservation for employment based on requisite talent.

He promised the delegation of complete possible support within the regulatory framework.
