Governor inaugurates J&K Bank ATM : "Bank's ATM strength to touch 500 mark this year"
On the auspicious occasion of Ramanavmi, J&K Bank today dedicated its 363rd ATM to public especially devotees visiting the Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra, Jammu.
State Governor Mr. N.N VOHRA along with his wife Mrs. Usha Vohra inaugurated the Teller Machine at the Bhawan area amid a large gathering of people.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vohra congratulated the bank for rendering extremely useful services to the state on many fronts.
"Opening of ATM at the bhawan area will render valuable service to the lakhs of pilgrims, who visit the shrine throughout the year," Mr Vohra said.
Mr A.K Mehta, Bank's Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer (COO), who was also present on the occasion, thanked the Governor for doing the honours at the Bhawan.
Stating that the Bank was planning a massive ATM network expansion, Mr Mehta informed, "On revisiting our business strategy and after having a re-look at the Bank's commitment towards the convenience of its customers, J&K Bank has decided to expand its ATM network from the present strength of 363 to 500 during the ongoing year and to 650 during 2012-2013 to ensure easy and 24X7 banking services are made available to more and more people".
J&K Bank plans to open three more ATM's enroute Katra to Bhawan for the convenience of yatris and customers the Bank, Mr Mehta informed.
The Governor was accompanied by Mr. R. K. Goyal (I.A.S), C.E.O Shrine Board, Dr. M. K. Bhandari (I.A.S), Additional. C.E.O Shrine Board, Mr. Jagjit Kumar, D.I.G Police, Mr. Parray, ADC Reasi and other dignitaries of civil administration, police, CRPF and Shrine Board.
R.K Chibber, Bank's Vice President for Jammu West, cluster head P. P. Gupta and Br. Head Vaishno Devi Naresh Singh Sambyal were also present on the occasion.
