J&amp;K Bank in &lsquo;<em>UMEED</em>&rsquo; review meet

Srinagar, May 13: J&K Bank participated in the review meeting of programme “UMEED” launched under National Rural Livelihood Mission NRLM Scheme by Ministry of Rural Development, GoI. The meeting was held at Community Centre, Block Laar, Ganderbal.


The meeting was presided over by the Secretary, Department of Rural Development - GoI, L C Goyal -IAS in presence of Joint Secretary NRLM Vijay Kumar IAS, Mission Director “UMEED” Farooq Ahmad Peer and ADDC Ganderbal Mujeeb-ur-Rehman were also present on the occasion.


On this occasion J&K Bank distributed sanction letters worth Rs. 30.00 lacs to 60 SHGs formed under UMEED in the Block Laar. The bank’s Cluster Head, Ganderbal Abdul Hamid Khan along with other dignitaries distributed the sanction letters among the beneficiaries.


Speaking on the occasion, L C Goyal appreciated the role of J&K Bank in providing banking support to these SHGs. The bank’s Cluster Head hailed the UMEED scheme and assured the audience of hassle-free credit facilities to identified SHGs from the bank.


BDO Laar Aziz Ahmad, Lead District Manager Faizullah Qureshi, State Representative for NRLM, M.O.R.D-GoI Dr. Yogita Rana, Director EDI Dr M I Parray and other officers of the bank were also present at the review meet.
