JK Bank organizes Financial Literacy Camp at Kakapora
To apprise people about the importance of financial literacy and various loan schemes for different sectors of economy, J&K Bank organized an awareness camp on Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling (FLCC) Thursday at Kakapora, Pulwama in south Kashmir.
District Development Commissioner Pulwama Mr. Mohammad Afzal Bhat presided over the one day counseling camp which was attended by a large number of people including women folk.
Speaking on the occasion, J&K Bank Cluster Head Pulwama Mr. M H Gatoo gave a detailed presentation of the financial products J&K Bank offers to every sector and segment of the state economy.
He reiterated the bank's mission to empower the people belonging to different sections of socio-economy by providing them timely and tailor-made finances.
He said, "We remain committed to provide finances to the genuine parties on priority basis. However, people should also help us by being honest when it comes to the repayment of their loans."
Expressing gratitude to the public for their enthusiasm in attending the camp, DDC Pulwama Mr. Afzal emphasized the need for cooperation between bank and people for the overall development of the district including the issue of unemployment.
He stressed upon people to take the benefits of the schemes which government offers for the unemployed educated youth in the state and asked the moneyed people to come forward for setting up of industrial units that provide employment opportunities for the unemployed youth and skilled workers.
Mr. K S Bhati, the LDO (Pulwama) RBI also spoke on the occasion.
He briefed the audience about the changing banking scenario. He referred to the world class technologies which are used in banking system and said that J&K Bank was one of the leading banks that provided all such facilities to its customers.
He asked the public to get the benefit of banks loan and deposit schemes for overall development of the state.
Earlier Mr. GR Kumar Convenor of the FLCC briefed people about the purpose of awareness camp in the area. He also spoke briefly about the action plans which were being implemented in the district and especially in Block Kakapora.
He thanked public for their participation in the awareness camp.
Among others present on the occasion was Assistant Director Employment (Pulwama), BDO Kakapora, District Officer KVIB, DIC Pulwama and officials of Handicrafts and Handlooms departments, who also briefed the audience about their schemes.
